C14 Ballroom Dancing For Beginners – 10 weeks

Designed for students with little or no experience, covering Waltz, Quickstep, Slow Foxtrot, Samba, Rumba, Jive and Cha Cha. Singles are most welcome but cannot be guaranteed a partner.

C00 Free Machine Embroidery
Fee: £124.00(F)/£90.00(R)
Five consecutive weeks starting 25th February 09, 9.30am – 12.30pm
Explore the exciting possibilities of using your sewing machine in a more creative way by learning how to accomplish the skill of free machine embroidery. The five week course will take you from the basics through to more advanced techniques. It is essential that you use your own sewing machine and that it is in good working order. C01 Painting and Drawing – 8 weeks from 8 October
10 – 12 noon Fee: £64.00(F)/£48.00(R)
This class offers students the opportunity to learn or improve their skills in drawing in a variety of
media.

CO2 Egyptian Belly Dancing for Improvers -10 weeks
6.30-7.30pm Fee: £46.00(F)/£35.00(R)
Suitable for students with at least one year’s experience

C04 Pottery – 10 weeks
7 – 9pm Fee: £80.00(F)/£60.00(R)
Come and learn how to make hand-built stoneware pottery – anything from fruit bowls and picture
frames to garden sculpture. Experienced students can make use of the electric wheels in the
pottery.

C08 Watercolour for Everyone – 10 weeks
7 – 9pm Fee: £75.00(F)/£56.00(R)
This course is both for beginners and for those with more experience. Watercolour is the most popular medium, and for very good reason. There is little to compare with the beauty of transparent colour washes, watercolours are handled in a way that is impossible with other mediums. The course will have a definite bias towards traditional landscape but will also include still life, pen and wash, and flower painting. The course will encourage you to create paintings from your own observations applying the ‘rules’ of design and composition. There will be plenty of new colour mixes, tips and ‘tricks of the trade’ for you to learn and enjoy.

E02 Upholstery – 30 weeks
10am – 3.30pm Fee: £550.00(F)/£410(R) (or £190.00 per term)
This course requires no prior experience, just enthusiasm and a love of the craft. Whether you are new to upholstery and want to refurbish a simple dining chair, or more adventurously, an armchair, this course is for you. All the basic skills of upholstery are covered, often on a one-to-one basis for traditional and modern furniture.

A07 Painting with Acrylics – 10 weeks

Learn to paint in acrylics with confidence. Experience the joy of colour. Create works to compliment the colour schemes in your own home. Demonstrations will be given by the tutor on the techniques and styles that are possible with this exciting medium. Beginners welcome.
A08 Salsa 7 – 8pm – 10 weeks
Fee: £46.00(F)/£35.00(R)
Salsa is an exotic Latin American dance. Discover the secrets of Salsa Dancing to make you irresistible on the dance floor.

A09 Salsasize 8.15 -9.15pm – 10 weeks
Fee: £46.00(F)/£35.00(R)
This entire dance will help you to exercise your body, helping to improve coordination, burning fat, toning muscles and well being, above all have great fun.

Tuesday

B01 Egyptian Belly Dancing for Beginners -10 weeks
6.30-7.30pm Fee: £46.00(F)/£35.00(R)
Learn this beautiful form of dance which will also tone you up whilst having fun – more enjoyable than the gym! Suitable for every age, shape and size. Wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a shawl to tie around your hips.

B08 Botanical Illustration – 10 weeks
7.00-9.00pm Fee £75.00(F)/£56.00(R)

This course covers the entire process of producing a botanical watercolour drawing, from pencil studies to a finished watercolour, including a historical talk on botanical art. We will cover colour theory, colour mixing and watercolour techniques.

B13 “Advanced Textiles Workshop”
Fee: £285.00 (or £105.00 per term)
Tuesdays (fortnightly) - starting 14th October, 08 (15 classes)
A lively, and structured workshop for those who wish to further their skills and experience in the field of creative embroidery. Students should have at least completed C&G 7822/7922 Embroidery or similar and have a firm commitment to the year’s course and an ability to work on own initiative. Design will be the catalysis of all learning with embroidery/machine embroidery and mixed media techniques being covered, pushing the boundaries in all areas. B15 Guitar Workshop for Beginners – 10 weeks

For beginners and those with little knowledge

B14 Fibrefusion Workshop
Fee: £285.00 (or £105.00 per term)
Tuesdays (fortnightly) – starting 21st October (15 classes).
This workshop is aimed at embroiderers’ with a high level of experience in the field of creative embroidery. Students are encouraged to extend and develop existing skills and experience through individual experimentation and discovery led by design. It is expected that students will have completed C&G 7922/7923 Embroidery, or have attained similar skills and qualifications through other avenues of study.
