SPRING / SUMMER 2009
Welcome to our Spring and Summer Brochure where we hope that you will find a course
that suits you.
Our fifteenth Summer School will be taking place from Monday 27 July – Friday 3 July. This
year we are offering 24 courses lasting from two to five days, covering a variety of topics, so
if you have never been before, now is your chance! Come and enjoy learning a new skill in
a relaxed atmosphere with an excellent lunch each day prepared for you. All the courses
are led by excellent tutors and cover subjects ranging from Silver Jewellery, Landscape
Painting, Dressmaking and Tapestry Weaving to Digital Photography, Walking, Bricklaying
and Bird Watching. See the leaflet in the centre of this brochure for details of all the
courses on offer and ring 01954 288751 to book a place.
With the effects of the credit crunch I am very conscious that money is tight and you may
not be able to afford one of our courses, particularly if you have just lost your job. However,
I am aware that people across the patch may be wanting to increase their skills and
possible retrain for a new career. Hence, I have successfully bid for development funding to
put on some 5 week taster courses at minimal or no cost. Please see centre pages or ring
01954 288751 for more information.
Computer classes continue to be an important part of our programme and we offer courses
at all levels of ability. Our main qualification has been the European Computer Driving
Licence (ECDL) which has proved very popular. We are now also able to offer the I.T.Q
which is a vocational computer qualification including a work based element. If you are a local employer you might like to contact us on 01954
288751 to discuss your particular training needs. Remember we also offer First Aid and a
Foundation Course in Food Hygiene.
